Whilst Alex eloquently told us about the history of gin making in Maidstone & the botanicals used in the current blends we were given a gin based cocktail to sip .
After touring the still & bottling areas we settled down to sample the four products currently being made at the distillery. .
A great experience gin lovers & also enjoyable for those not so passionate about “Mothers Ruin/Vera Lynn”

We both had such a great afternoon. We loved the Maidstone history and the surroundings were beautiful. Making our gin was great fun and all the details and effort put in made it really special and memorable. Having a labelled bottle of our own named gin to take home to enjoy was the perfect end to a brilliant experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I learnt a lot about the whole process. It was really good fun choosing the flavours to add to our gin, there’s so much to choose from, and then finally choosing a name for our finished product. The drinks provided during the experience were excellent quality and it was good to be able to stay in the bar area after. Would love to do it again just to be able to try mixing a completely different flavour.

I was nervous at first as an experience I’d done the... read more measurements of the ingredients were measured by the chap running the tour. Here you measure your own, but you have a guide and lots of assistance from the guide. This was Naomi for us, she really knew her stuff and was able to guide you to make the gin you want.
It’s an very generous package with a double gin at the start of their George Bishop gin, a cocktail using their toffee liqueur during the making and then another double of their RansCombe WIld afterwards. as well as trying your own creation. There was no pressure to purchase anything, which was refreshing and I didn’t feel rushed out of the door once we’d finished either. I would recommend this to everyone, totally worth the cost.
All of the staff were really lovely and it was lovely to see how busy it was with cocktails etc when we’d finished.

It is a small personal distillery so don't expect huge bottling machines. They make batches of 'hand made' gin lovingly produced to the highest standards, which you will be pleased to know you get to sample.
The whole experience is not rushed and plenty of time to ask searching questions and see how the magic is performed.
I and my whole group would recommend this as well worth 'doing' if you are ever in Maidstone.
You will also learn a lot about the passion that goes into a bottle and they may even give you a seek preview of new products under development.

We learned about the history of gin and the distillery and got to taste another gin they produce. They also make a toffee liqueur which we didn't try today but have had before and it is absolutely amazing. My husband couldn't resist on leaving and bought a bottle of London gin and some toffee liqueur. We weren't gin lover's but have been converted. I would recommend the tour to anyone it really is interesting and the staff super friendly.

During the making you also get a Toffee Gin liqueur, with Ginger Ale, which was amazing.

The time making the Gin just flew by, 90 minutes seemed like about 5 minutes.

It was such fun that we are thinking of returning to do it again.
