This year’s Taste of Kent Awards hosted by Produced in Kent saw our signature spirit, George Bishop London Dry Gin, take the title of ‘Kent Spirit of the Year’!
It was a fun packed evening and if you tuned in with a George and Tonic in hand, we hope you enjoyed your evening as much as we did!
After initially making it to the finals through a public voting stage, George was then scrutinised by a panel of local food and drink experts and pitched against stiff competition in two signature gins from other Kent distilleries. The judges commended George saying, “The flavours of this complex gin really stood out. It’s peppery and spicy, yet with a great array of citrus and floral notes.”
A clear favourite with the public and the judges, George Bishop London Dry Gin is a fitting tribute to the man from whom it takes its name and we feel incredibly proud to be carrying forward the legacy of his legendary Maidstone Gin.
George Bishop London Dry Gin (70cl)
A fitting tribute to our Founding Father, George Bishop, who installed the first Maidstone Distillery in the County Town in 1785. This modern interpretation of the classic London Dry style is bold, polished and complex.
A perfect balance of 15 exotic botanicals, with warm citrus combined with spice and aniseed. Sweet citrusy notes from coriander and air-dried peels are balanced with the tangy piquance of star anise, ambrette and perfumed chamomile.
This gin stands up when served with a mixer, or in a cocktail.
Each bottle is finished by hand, with handwritten batch and bottle number.
